Adventure!

So tonight, late, about 9:10 pm, my brother Sam and I heard music from our house. It was distant, but hearable. At first it sounded like music coming from a house down the street, and we thought someone was having a party. Then my dad said, 'No, thats coming from a concert down at Old Mill.' So then we drove down to Old Mill to check it out. When we got there, we heard absolutely nothing. It was silent. But we saw a lot of cars driving away, so naturally, we thought the concert had just ended and people were leaving. So we drove home, and we heard the music again. So I said, "Yeah, I think it is a party." and then my mom said "Maybe it is coming from Cascade (the middle school by our house)." and she told us to go walk down there and check it out if we wanted. So we started walking. Now, to get to cascade from our house is about 10 minutes. So we got there... and it was dark, and sorta creepy, and nothing was going on at all. But we definitely heard the music louder. So we kept walking. We hopped this tall fence, and started walking through all this land. Past Cascade, then Past 7 Peaks (Another middle school) and we did some trail creating of our own. We leaped over sagebrush, got poked by a lot of prickles, climbed a few more fences, crossed a unknown busy street, that in daylight I probably would know. Then we finally heard the music loud and saw lights. And a stage. But in the distant. We slid down this big dusty hill, and finally got there. Standing in the parking lot, I realized where we were - The Bend Athletic Center - about a 20 - 25 minute walk from our house if you count all the bush whacking and trail making. Everyone was leaving, right as we got there the concert ended. There must have been 300 people there. I think it may have been a paid concert, so when we saw a gate open, and no one gaurding, we snuck in. There was this one guard there that was looking at us like we were young ruffians and didn't belong there. Out of no where, my brother says just loudly enough for the guard to hear, "Mom? Dad? Where are you guys?!" and I was just dumbfounded. He thought of that by himself! I always thought him to be a goody two shoes, but his rebellious side just shined. I am so proud of him! He's learning well. :) So we get past the guard, and into the concert, and there is a LOT of litter on the ground, and a big stage with lights and such all over it, and it was so cool! Then we left to go home after about 5 minutes of exploring. We took a different route, but it was pretty adventuresome also! Keep in mind, all of this is being done in the black of night! So it was creepy just climbing through unknown forest! AHH!
